I used to be this person who would walk in a cosmetic store and come out with ten new products every time. A week later I would feel let down with the less than expected performance of the products, and wasteful expenditure thus incurred.

I do not feel like spending a ton of money on skincare products anymore. I love DIY skincare products. They have changed my life.

Today I have yet another DIY remedy to share with you – DIY Vitamin C Glow Serum For Oily Skin. This serum uses Vitamin C tablets.

How Is This Glow Serum Good For Your Skin?
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is rightly known as the holy grail of skincare products. Name just about any skin concern – acne, uneven skin tone, fine lines, dull skin, etc. And there is a good chance that Vitamin C can fix it.

Almond Oil
Almond Oil reduces puffiness and under-eye circles. It is known to improve complexion, treat dry skin, improve acne, reverse sun-damage, and mitigate the appearance of scars.

Aloe Vera
I use Aloe Vera in many of my recipes. This is because its gel-like components are known to heal the skin for a variety of ailments.

It gets absorbed easily, making it ideal for oily skin. I swap my regular moisturizer quite a few times with aloe vera to help moisture get retained in my skin.

Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, it is widely used to treat acne.

Rosewater
Rosewater soothes skin irritation, reduces redness of the skin, helps get rid of acne, and is a great cleanser for removing oil and dirt accumulated in skin pores.

Ingredients:

  • Vitamin C tablets crushed to powder
  • Almond Oil
  • Aloe Vera
  • Rose water

How To make DIY Glow Serum for Oily Skin At Home:

  1. Add some rose water to the powdered vitamin C tablets, and mix them well.
  2. Empty this mixture in a bowl.
  3. Add two tablespoon aloe vera gel into this mixture.
  4. Add one tablespoon almond oil into this mixture.
  5. Mix all ingredients properly to get a nice serum type of consistency.
  6. Shift the mixture into an empty container.

That is it. Your homemade Vitamin C serum for oily skin is now ready.

You can use this serum anytime during the day. But make sure you clean your face properly before using it. You can store this serum in an airtight container for twenty days at room temperature.

After using this natural vitamin C serum in my skincare routine for a while, I have noticed that my skin texture has improved. My skin feels soft and supple, and the dark spots around my eyes and mouth are fading.
